Govt Decides to Give Reserved Seats to Overseas Pakistanis in Assemblies

The federal government has decided to give overseas Pakistanis reserved seats in the National and Provincial Assemblies in order to allow them to vote.

This decision was made at a Federal Cabinet meeting held in Islamabad on Tuesday, according to the 24News HD TV channel.

The federal cabinet directed the Parliamentary Division to bring the issue before the All Parties Committee on Electoral Reforms during the meeting.

According to the decision, the All Parties Committee will send recommendations for electoral reform legislation to the parliamentary division, which will then consult the Pakistan Election Commission (ECP).

Overseas Pakistanis have been declared a valuable asset of the country, and they will be involved in the political process, according to the federal cabinet.
