KP Govt Announces to Launch Insaf Food Card

The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has announced that the Insaf Food Card program will be launched across the province in the first week of June.

The decision was made at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Mahmood Khan in Peshawar.

The meeting was informed that the provincial food department and the Bank of Khyber had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the implementation of the Insaf Food Card scheme.

The scheme would cost Rs25.5 billion per year, with funds already approved by the provincial cabinet.

Deserving households would be given Rs2,100 per month to spend on essential food items under the scheme.

The food card scheme will benefit a total of 5 million people in the province, accounting for 12 percent of the total population.

The meeting also decided to keep providing people with subsidized wheat flour.

Following the Sehat Insaf Card, CM Mahmood Khan said the Insaf Food Program was another flagship project of the provincial government.

He added that the KP government is committed to providing maximum relief to the people
