A medical panel set up to establish Dua Zehra’s age has released its findings. Dua Zehra was a teenage girl who vanished from Karachi and then claimed to have wed Zaheer Ahmed.
According to the report, the medical board assessed her age to be between 14 and 15 years old based on how she physically looked. Her age was found to be between 13 and 15 years old by looking at her teeth.
However, the bone ossification test determined that she is between the ages of 16 and 17.
According to the report’s conclusion, the child is between the ages of 15 and 16, according to a consensus reached following discussion among medical specialists on a number of parameters establishing her age.
The chairman and the other 10 members of the medical board have all signed the report.
Before to this, a medical study found that Dua Zehra is between 16 and 17 years old. Her father disagreed with this finding and asserted that she is 14 years old, in contrast to Dua Zehra, who stated that she is 18 years old in her statement to the SHC.
Following a Karachi trial court’s directive during the hearing of the girl’s alleged kidnapping, the Sindh Health Department later assembled the biggest medical board of 10 specialists to determine Dua Zehra’s age.
Jibran Nasir, a social media activist and the petitioner’s attorney released a notification indicating that Prof. Saba Sohail, the principal of Dow Medical College, presided over the medical board. The board also comprised forensics, dentistry, gynecology, and radiology specialists.
