WhatsApp will let You Add Voice Notes to Status Updates Soon

Through a future update, WhatsApp hopes to improve the app’s status updates. As first noted by WABetaInfo, the new WhatsApp beta version for Android (2.22.16.3) offers the option to attach audio notes to status updates.

“Voice statuses” will be the name of the new category of status updates. You may use this to record audio messages and upload them to your WhatsApp status, as the name suggests. View the screenshot that follows.

A new button will be added as part of the upgrade on the status tab’s bottom. You may rapidly add voice remarks to your status updates by pressing the button with the microphone symbol.

Voice status updates work the same way as regular status updates in that they are only shared with the people you specify in your privacy settings. Just like all other communications and material exchanged on WhatsApp, the voice notes will be end-to-end encrypted.

Since the functionality is still under development, it is unknown when it will be included in WhatsApp’s stable release. However, because it is already there in the WhatsApp Beta, it is certain to make an appearance on the main app sooner rather than later.

According to related news, WhatsApp is developing a shortcut for seeing status updates immediately through the conversation list. In the event that you neglect to check the status tab, this will ensure that you don’t miss out on anyone’s most recent changes.
