Government May Increase Petrol Prices by Rs 20 Per Liter

The government is going to increase the price of petroleum products by up to Rs 20 a liter, dropping a petrol bomb on the already suffering people.

The government raised the cost of fuel by Rs. 6.72 per liter on August 15 while slashing the cost of diesel by Rs. 0.51.

Petrol is offered for Rs233.91 per liter, diesel is sold for Rs244.44 per liter, kerosene is available for Rs199.40 per liter, and light diesel oil is priced at Rs191.75 per liter.

According to the finance division’s statement, the government decided to update the current pricing of petroleum products in order to pass the impact on to customers as a result of variations in the price of oil in the global market and uncertainty in exchange rates.
