Umrah Pilgrims Offered High-speed Train Service Between Makkah and Madinah

Pilgrims can travel between the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah in just two hours and twenty minutes thanks to high-speed train service.

The Haramain Express, which has a top speed of more than 300 kilometers per hour, is part of the Kingdom’s integrated transportation network.

The train can carry over 400 passengers in business and economy classes, with tickets ranging from SR40 to SR150 ($10.60-$40). The service also makes stops in Jeddah and the King Abdullah Economic City.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah’s visa scheme allows people from all over the world to perform Umrah during their stay in the Kingdom.

Pilgrims who wish to perform Umrah in Saudi Arabia are advised to use the Maqam platform — maqam.gds.haj.gov.sa/ — where they can make all necessary travel arrangements and choose from a package of services.

Holders of family and personal visit visas can easily perform Umrah by booking an appointment through the Umrah app.

Umrah pilgrims must have comprehensive health insurance that covers the cost of COVID-19 treatment.
