Despite falling oil prices on the global market, the government unexpectedly announced an increase in the price of petrol late at night.
The fuel price has increased by Rs. 1.45 per liter, according to a formal statement issued by the Ministry of Finance. The revised fuel price is Rs. 237.43.
The government has decided to revise the prices of petroleum products in light of fluctuating global oil prices and exchange rate variations, according to the statement. The new prices will take effect today, September 21, 2022.
High-speed diesel remains available for the same price of Rs. 247.43.
Kerosene, however, has seen a reduction in the price of Rs. 8.30 per liter to Rs. 202.02, and light diesel oil has seen a reduction in the price of Rs. 4.26 per liter to Rs. 197.28.
