Yesterday, Faisal Shahkar, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Punjab, officially opened the City Traffic Police Lahore’s (CTPL) Smart 24/7 Licensing Center at Manawan Lines.
Citizens will have 24/7 access to its services, seven days a week, according to the specifics.
According to IGP Shahkar, the Punjab Police’s main goal is to issue driving licenses to civilians while also encouraging strict adherence to traffic laws. He also directed the streamlining of the procedure and the transparent use of technological tools to provide other facilities.
CCPO Lahore, Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), Muntazer Mehdi, AIG Traffic, DIG Operations, DIG Investigation, and the IGP made this statement at the new license center’s inauguration ceremony.
He also advocated prioritizing the issuance of driving licenses to women and the elderly, as well as coordinating with the Safe City camera system to improve traffic management in the provincial capital.
IGP Shahkar was briefed by CCPO Dogar and CTO Mehdi on the operations of the recently opened license center, and they explained that services like new international and learner licenses as well as duplicate, renewal, and license verification services will be provided in a transparent manner through the Queumatic Management System (QMS).
The Liberty Market already has 22 learner’s booths, six driving test facilities, and a separate licensing facility for women, CTO Mehdi also emphasized.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, IGP Shahkar surveyed the attendees about the center’s amenities and personnel, and he praised the traffic police for their service delivery. The people praised him for offering up-to-date, open services.
