Pakistan’s first hybrid electric car was successfully built by Sazgar Engineering Works Ltd. (SEWL) (HEV).
The company announced the vehicle’s launch under the name “Haval” on November 17 in Lahore in a filing to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Wednesday. It is a partnership between SEWL and Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor.
According to sources, the filers could expect to pay roughly Rs9.9 million for the Haval HEV H6 vehicle.
However, it is unclear how many HEV vehicles will be released each month because the corporation will base its production volume on consumer demand.
Three to four months after making a booking, customers will receive their HEV vehicles.
The initial deployment of cars was expected for August, according to a stock filing by SEWL in August of this year, which stated that the trial operation of the Haval vehicles had been completed successfully and far ahead of schedule.
It is a developing story, stay tuned for more updates and the price of the car.
