At a meeting held at the San Francisco headquarters of the company, these tactics were discussed with the remaining Twitter employees. The CEO of Twitter, Elon Musk, presented plans and conceptual frameworks for new features that will be added to the microblogging service in a presentation titled “Twitter 2.0” at the conference.

During the meeting, Musk gave the team the advice to start working on encrypted DMs, audio calls, and video chats all within direct messaging.

Musk demonstrated his commitment to customer privacy by making sure that Twitter users’ conversations in the encrypted chat feature are as private as possible.

“We want to make it possible for users to connect without worrying about their privacy, without worrying that a data breach at Twitter would cause all of their direct messages to go online, or without worrying that perhaps someone at Twitter is eavesdropping on their DMs.” The CEO described his concept, saying, “That’s obviously not going to be cool, and it has happened a few times before.”

Even with a gun to their heads, the CEO continued, no one from Twitter should be allowed to view users” direct messages.
