Govt Announces Reduced Timings for Markets, Cafes and Wedding Halls

Markets, lodging facilities, restaurants, and cafés will formally close at 8:30 p.m., while wedding locations will do so at 10:00 p.m. It is estimated that the action will save Rs. 62 billion annually.

Today’s announcement was made by Khawaja Muhammad Asif, the defense minister. Due to the nation’s still-fragile economy, he also announced a number of cost-cutting measures.

During the federal cabinet meeting earlier today, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif issued the directive to reduce electricity use in federal government offices by 30% and to avoid any unnecessary use of electricity. The use of inefficient electrical equipment in government buildings is now prohibited.

The federal government has also mandated a hurried introduction of e-bikes. $3 billion worth of gasoline is used each year by fuel bikes. Fuel bikes will eventually become obsolete as e-bikes become more popular.

To encourage people to implement austerity measures, the federal government has also launched a comprehensive awareness campaign. PEMRA will see to it that TV and radio networks air advertisements for this awareness campaign during the previously allotted 10% of their advertising time.

The federal government would inform public sector employees of the work-from-home (WFH) policy in the following 8–10 days after receiving PM Shehbaz’s approval.

The federal government has requested that the FBR publish a unique tax directory of the legislators. The public will be able to discover how much tax their elected officials actually pay.
