Saudis In Makkah Can Now Rent Out Their Housing Units To Hajj Pilgrims

The Makkah Mayoralty’s Pilgrims’ Housing Committee reported that it has begun to receive inquiries from residents about renting out residential properties to house the Hajj pilgrims.

The committee urged owners of all residential units who intended to rent out their residences to pilgrims to contact the designated engineering offices right away to complete the necessary paperwork for providing permits for their residences in this regard.

The mayoralty declared that it would still be taking applications from citizens in the future.

There are several engineering consulting companies that have been given the go-ahead from the mayoralty and the Civil Defense to inspect the housing units for the pilgrims in order to verify that they complied with the law and to issue a fitness certificate in agreement.

The Pilgrims’ Housing Committee “will grant permits for the housing units to accommodate the pilgrims,” according to that.

According to the Saudi Gazette, the committee invited the citizens to contact it and learn about the stated terms and circumstances in order to facilitate the granting of permissions for using their housing units to house the pilgrims.

The mayoralty required all building owners who wished to rent out their properties to comply with all building and safety regulations and to take all necessary precautions for safety and security.
