The deadly earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria has claimed 5,000 lives, and overworked rescuers are still attempting to free survivors who are buried beneath the rubble. The magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck the region on Monday toppled hundreds of buildings, including hospitals and apartment buildings, leaving thousands of people injured and homeless.

The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) reports that 3,381 people have died in Turkiye. There have been more than 1,500 fatalities in Syria, according to the government and a rescue organization in the country’s northwest that is under rebel control.
Even though many organizations are stepping up to help those affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, there are few opportunities for people in Pakistan to contribute to relief efforts. We have compiled a list of organizations to which you can donate easily using a credit card due to the potential difficulties in making international transfers through Pakistani banks.
1- Alkhidmat Foundation
The Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan has offered non-profit aid since 1990. The organization continues to work to help those in need in Pakistan and around the world. We recently saw the attempt by the charity to raise money for Pakistan’s flood-affected regions. The organization is currently raising money to help those in Syria and Turkey who were impacted by the earthquake.

The International Rescue Committee (IRC), a non-governmental organization that responds to humanitarian crises globally and operates in more than 40 countries, was established in 1933 at Albert Einstein’s urging. IRC helps victims of violence and disasters reclaim their strength, health, safety, education, and financial security.
The IRC asserts that the Syria Humanitarian Response Plan (2022–2033), which is already severely underfunded, has received less than half of the $4 billion required. The earthquake causes more and more demanding conditions on the ground. In order to help earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria, the organization is raising money.

The United Nations’ International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has also planned assistance for Syria and Turkey. The UN organization’s main concern is figuring out how the earthquake affected water stations and any other service interruptions. It assesses the damage done to schools. UNICEF noted that helping children locate their relatives was another top concern on their website.
