Google announced on Monday that it will introduce a conversational chatbot by the name of Bard as part of an artificial intelligence battle with Microsoft, which has invested billions in the creators of ChatGPT, the wildly popular language program that accurately mimics human writing.
The San Francisco company OpenAI’s ChatGPT has made a splash with its quick on-demand composition of essays, poems, or programming code and sparked widespread worries about cheating or the extinction of entire professions.

In addition to starting to incorporate ChatGPT features into its Teams platform, Microsoft announced last month that it was supporting OpenAI. The company is hoping to adapt the program to its Office suite and Bing search engine.
Another indication that the two tech behemoths will compete for control of the technology, also known as generative AI, is the fact that Google announced its news on the same day as Microsoft’s launch event for AI-related products.

In the same way that the emergence of the internet brought down the networking behemoths that came before (AOL, CompuServe, etc.), Rob Enderle, an independent tech analyst, claims that “Generative AI is a game changer and has the potential to disrupt the competitive dynamics for search and information.”
