Since 2018, WhatsApp has let users create unique sticker packs. However, users had to rely on third-party apps to add stickers to WhatsApp because the ability to create their own stickers was not natively integrated into the app. With its most recent update, WhatsApp significantly streamlined the sticker creation process by allowing users to create stickers directly from any photo using the iPhone app.

The iOS version of WhatsApp has quietly added a new feature that enables users to quickly convert their gallery photos into WhatsApp stickers without relying on any third-party apps, according to WABetaInfo, a website that tracks changes in the app.
Additionally, the report claims that WhatsApp for iPhone version 23.3.77, which is available for download from the Apple App Store, now includes this feature.
A built-in feature that allows users to create custom stickers is now available for WhatsApp on the iPhone. Users can use this feature to turn a photo from their iPhone album into a WhatsApp sticker. The procedure is trickier to understand than it first appears.

It’s not a built-in feature of WhatsApp for iPhone to allow users to make their own stickers. Instead, by using long-pressing and drag-and-drop gestures, the app makes use of iOS 16’s API to isolate the subject from an image.
Users can separate the subject into a sticker by dragging and dropping it into a WhatsApp conversation. The fact that this feature is only accessible on iPhones running iOS 16 or later should not be overlooked, though. Because older iOS versions do not support this functionality, users of iOS 15 or earlier will not be able to use the new feature on WhatsApp.
