A new feature for WhatsApp users is reportedly being developed, according to reports. According to WaBetaInfo, a feature allowing users to lock chats and hide them from other users may be added to the instant messaging program.
The feature was found in the most recent version of WhatsApp beta for Android (2.23.8.2), which is available from the Google Play Store. In a later update, it will be distributed to all users.

According to the report, once the feature is available, WhatsApp users will be able to lock specific chats using a passcode or fingerprint. As a result, users will be able to protect sensitive information from prying eyes on WhatsApp chats. You can lock your most private chats directly inside the chat’s contact or group information, it specifically states.
A chat that has been locked can only be accessed with the user’s fingerprint or the passcode for the phone. Additionally, a chat will only be accessible from this screen once it has been added to the list of locked chats. If a user tries to access one of these locked chats, but is unsuccessful, he or she will be prompted to clear the chat in order to open it.

By making sure that media files like photos and videos sent in a locked chat are not automatically saved to the device’s gallery, the feature will also aid in maintaining the privacy of digital content.
As previously mentioned, the ability to lock chats is a feature that is in the works. It will be made available in a later version of the app.

The 15 additional duration caps for WhatsApp’s disappearing message feature will be increased. At the moment, WhatsApp only offers the 24 hours, 7 days, and 90 day disappearing message options. The app will, however, soon offer more options.
These new options, which can be found under “More options,” range in length from a year to just one hour. Users will have more control over their conversations and be able to tailor the settings for disappearing messages to suit their needs thanks to this increased flexibility.
