The decision to introduce this “golden chance” seeks to streamline the procedure for these expats to obtain a local driver’s license by limiting it to just the theory and road tests.
In the interim, the approved nations can visit RTA to exchange their licenses. These nations consist of the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, South Africa, Denmark, France, Hong Kong, and Ireland. However, in order to obtain the Dubai license, expats from Lithuania and Greece must renounce their foreign licenses.

In addition, the RTA recently inaugurated a brand-new cyclists’ tunnel in Dubai’s Al Meydan neighborhood, with a capacity for 800 bikes per hour. The tunnel contributes to RTA’s efforts to make Dubai a bicycle-friendly city by giving cyclists a continuous path to travel along without having to worry about collisions with other vehicles. The tunnel’s length exceeds 160 meters, and its width is 6.6 meters, providing cyclists with a convenient and safe way to exercise while taking in Dubai’s breathtaking scenery.
