WhatsApp Now Let you Transfer Chat Backup to New Phone with Simple QR Code [Video]

WhatsApp, an instant messaging service, offers a number of options for backing up your chat history, enabling users to save old messages, and allowing users to save other media to a cloud storage service like Google Drive.

These options provided by the platform owned by Meta allow users to restore chat history when switching to a new phone or if they unintentionally delete chats, in contrast to the earlier options, which were not as simple and required users to select other apps, while some users decided against restoring data.

However, WhatsApp has released a new data transfer feature that makes it easier to restore your chats and files on a new smartphone without the use of cloud backups.

Users can now transfer data using Wi-Fi Direct with the aid of a QR code service. The app is currently available only to Beta users, but it will soon be made available to everyone.

To access the new feature in the updated version of the app, go to WhatsApp, select Chats, and then select Chat Transfer.

To protect privacy, Meta made sure that information was only transferred between two devices and was completely encrypted.

The data transfer feature currently only supports devices with the same operating system, so Android to iOS is not supported.
