Today, a momentous occasion took place as Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif inaugurated the Temporary Mobile Registration System by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

This groundbreaking initiative is designed to offer convenience to overseas Pakistanis and foreign nationals visiting the country by enabling them to register and use their personal mobile phones for a period of up to 120 days from their date of arrival, exempt from duties and taxes.

The Temporary Mobile Registration System has been developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT), the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). Visitors will have the opportunity to utilize this facility during each visit to Pakistan.

To avail themselves of this service, users can conveniently apply online through the official website of the PTA. In his address, the Prime Minister underscored the government’s unwavering commitment to providing exceptional connectivity services to all visitors, ensuring that they can stay connected throughout their stay in Pakistan.
During the launch ceremony, Syed Amin Ul Haq, the Federal Minister for IT & Telecom, conveyed a resolute message. He emphasized the ongoing efforts to deliver seamless ICT services throughout Pakistan and assured that connectivity would be extended with ease and convenience to both overseas Pakistanis and foreign nationals visiting the country.
