Dr. Tawfiq Bin Fawzan Al Rabiah, the Saudi Minister for Hajj and Umrah, revealed that Umrah visas for Pakistani pilgrims will now span 90 days.
To bolster religious tourism, additional sites in Makkah and Madinah are set to be unlocked. This significant announcement took place in a joint press briefing with Pakistan’s interim Minister for Religious Affairs, Aneeq Ahmed.

The minister emphasized a strong working relationship between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan to facilitate pilgrims’ religious journeys. Additionally, over 100 historical and religious sites will be opened in the holy cities to boost religious tourism. Efforts to reduce Hajj expenses for pilgrims were also discussed.
During his Pakistan visit, Dr. Tawfiq held talks on various important matters. Civil aviation authorities from both countries agreed to increase the number of flights. Pakistan’s counterpart requested exemptions from biometric requirements for pilgrims above 65 and alternative sites for Pakistan Houses in Makkah and Madinah.

Dr. Tawfiq met President Arif Alvi and caretaker Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar. They praised the strong bilateral ties based on shared faith and history. President Alvi highlighted investment opportunities in IT, renewable energy, and infrastructure sectors. He thanked Saudi Arabia for support on various Muslim issues and appreciated their Hajj arrangements.

The Saudi minister also met with the caretaker prime minister, who praised the positive bilateral relations and Saudi investment interest under the Special Investment Facilitation Council. Special treatment for Pakistani Hajj and Umrah pilgrims was anticipated, and Saudi Arabia’s commitment to supporting them was acknowledged.
