The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has recently taken a significant step by reducing the registration fees for older models of Apple iPhones.
This decision comes in response to the Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) announcement regarding the reduction of taxes on Apple smartphones.

In light of the FBR’s tax reduction, the PTA has proactively decreased the registration charges for earlier versions of iPhone devices.
This reduction in registration fees by the PTA is being implemented across two distinct categories: those based on passport information and those based on CNIC (Computerised National Identity Card) details.

For instance, the registration fee for an iPhone 8 using passport information has been revised to Rs38,922, while for the same model using CNIC details, the fee now amounts to Rs48,314.

Likewise, the registration fee for an iPhone 8 Plus with passport information has been modified to Rs40,951, and for CNIC-based registration, it has been set at Rs50,546.
These adjustments in registration fees have been made to align with the recent changes introduced by the FBR. As a result, these changes will impact how individuals owning iPhones in Pakistan go about registering their devices.
