Samsung has officially released the highly anticipated Galaxy A05 and Galaxy A05s in Malaysia, though their prices are yet to be revealed. Both phones are now featured on Samsung’s microsite for the region, providing us with comprehensive details.
In terms of design, the A05 comes in Black, Light Green, and Silver, while its counterpart, the A05s, is available in Black and Light Green. The key differentiator is the camera setup, with the A05s boasting a triple-lens arrangement, surpassing the A05’s dual-camera setup.
Under the hood, there’s a distinction in processing power as well. The A05s is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor, whereas the A05 features the MediaTek Helio G85 chipset. Both offer impressive capabilities, but the Snapdragon 680 outperforms the Helio G85 in benchmark tests.
Storage is not a concern for either model, as both budget-friendly Samsung devices in Malaysia come with a 6GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration. Display enthusiasts will notice that the A05 has a 6.7-inch HD+ screen, while the A05s step up to FHD+ resolution for crisper visuals.
In the camera department, both phones feature a 50MP primary shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. However, the A05s gains an edge with an additional 2MP macro lens, making it slightly better for close-up shots. Both devices are powered by substantial 5,000mAh batteries with 25W fast charging support.
These new additions debut with the latest Android 13 and One UI 5, with future software enhancements on the horizon. While global release dates are uncertain, it’s evident that the A05s, with its added specifications, will likely command a higher price.
