How to pay passport fees online
The Directorate General Immigration and Passports (DGIP) has introduced a convenient online passport fee payment app accessible nationwide. This initiative aims to streamline the fee payment process, eliminating the need for citizens to endure long bank queues.
Salman Sufi, the head of the PM’s Strategic Reforms, announced the launch of the app, known as “Passport Fee Asaan,” with Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah inaugurating the service. This is just one of several upcoming facilities planned for the public’s benefit. The app is now available for download on both PlayStore and Apple Store, ensuring accessibility for all.
Furthermore, citizens can opt to pay their passport fees through the DGIP’s web portal, PayMaster. Previously, this online payment option was available in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Lahore, with plans to launch it in Karachi this month. However, the service has been extended to the entire country ahead of schedule.
With the online payment procedure, citizens will receive email notifications and Short Message Service (SMS) confirmations upon successful fee payment, which they can present as proof at the passport office, simplifying the passport application process.
