In an attempt to divert attention from the eagerly awaited Peugeot 3008 or 5008 models, Peugeot Pakistan has opted for a somewhat lackluster strategy by introducing two supposedly exciting new colors for the Peugeot 2008.
Taking a page from Kia Lucky Motors’ playbook, it seems that car manufacturers in Pakistan are relying on color cards to distract from the absence of more significant releases.
The Cosmetic Shift – New Colors Unveiled
The company’s announcement on social media platforms reveals Panthera Metal and Mercury Blue as the new colours for the Peugeot 2008, aiming to inject excitement into the model.
However, the attempt to generate enthusiasm falls short, with marketing jargon trying to infuse adventure into these new colors. Mercury Blue is described as a hue that “sparks adventure,” while Panthera Metal is hailed as a color that “echoes freedom’s anthem.”
The posts state
‘Introducing Panthera Metal – A color that echoes freedom’s anthem, inviting you to explore uncharted realms. Get ready for a drive through the concrete jungle celebrating the allure of the open road.’
‘Introducing Mercury Blue – A color that sparks adventure, fueling the thrill-seeker within. Buckle up for a journey where every curve tells a tale of bold allure and get ready to redefine your drive.’
This move bears a striking resemblance to Kia Motors Pakistan, who, in a similar bid to distract from the mundane, introduced “Clear White” and a “Black Edition” for the Sportage. It seems to be a predictable pattern – when in doubt, add a dash of color and hope it overshadows the lack of substantial updates.
While Peugeot Pakistan encourages potential buyers to redefine their drive with Mercury Blue’s thrill or Panthera Metal’s illusion of freedom, one cannot help but wonder if these colors are a desperate attempt to breathe life into an otherwise forgettable model.
Despite the attempt to create an illusion of excitement with the new colors, the Peugeot 2008 remains an uninspiring canvas with just a fresh coat of paint.
