Pakistani Passport Fee Structure Update 2024

The Pakistani government issues passports to its citizens to facilitate international travel and ensure their protection abroad.

Possessing a valid Pakistani passport grants the holder the right to seek assistance from Pakistani diplomatic and consular representatives while abroad. It serves as the sole document verifying the identity of its holder in foreign lands.

The Directorate General of Immigration & Passports, under the Ministry of Interior, processes passport applications and issues passports to citizens based on set requirements.

To obtain a new Pakistani passport, citizens residing in the country must visit their respective regional passport offices.

The process for applying for a new machine-readable passport (MRP) at regional passport offices in Pakistan involves the following steps:

  1. Arriving at the Customer Service Counter.
  2. Verifying fees, capturing photographs, and issuing tokens.
  3. Capturing biometrics/fingerprints.
  4. Data entry.
  5. Verification against office records (ECL/BL).
  6. Interview and decision by an Assistant Director.
  7. Passport delivery (collection).
