Lenovo Unveils World’s First See-Through Laptop at MWC

In a futuristic showcase at the MWC 2024 event in Barcelona, Lenovo took center stage to reveal Project Crystal, hailed as the world’s first laptop featuring a micro-LED display. This groundbreaking innovation, resembling a creation from a sci-fi realm, represents a leap forward in display technology.

While Project Crystal currently remains a concept device, without immediate plans for commercial release, it offers a glimpse into the innovative prowess of Lenovo’s ThinkPad division, renowned for its cutting-edge notebooks.

Although seemingly futuristic, the transparent micro-LED screen of Project Crystal presents intriguing possibilities for practical applications. With AI-driven innovation, users can seamlessly reverse the display’s orientation, which is ideal for scenarios such as doctor’s offices or hotel reception desks. This feature eliminates the need to physically turn the screen, allowing information to be shared effortlessly across both sides.

Despite its groundbreaking display technology, Project Crystal exhibits some drawbacks, including limited ports, an older CPU, a weak hinge, and static charge accumulation, resulting in occasional shocks to users.
