Exciting news is on the horizon for Pakistanis living in the UK and across Europe as Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is gearing up to restart its flights to Paris next month and to the UK on August 14, signaling the end of a four-year break, as reported by 24NewsHD TV.
Abdullah Hafeez, the spokesperson for PIA, mentioned that the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is anticipated to authorize the airline’s operations in stages over this month.
Hafeez noted that once the approval from the agency is received, PIA will prioritize resuming flight operations to Paris. Additionally, he stated that the direct flight to London is scheduled to commence on August 14. Furthermore, Hafeez highlighted that, in preparation for the resumption of flights, the airline is accelerating repairs on its 777 aircraft.
At present, PIA operates seven 777 planes, with two additional aircraft slated to become operational within the next two months, according to Hafeez.
Meanwhile, a PIA General Manager remarked that with nine 777 planes in operation, the airline will significantly bolster its flight services to Europe. Hafeez also underscored that Pakistan currently holds air service agreements with 97 countries.
It’s important to note that direct flights from Pakistan to the UK were halted in 2020.
