BYD, a leading maker of New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) from China, is teaming up with Mega Motor Company, a part of Hub Power Company Limited (HUBCO), to launch their brand in Pakistan on August 17th. This event will introduce BYD’s passenger cars to the Pakistani market.
Billboards about the launch have appeared in major cities across Pakistan. This partnership, announced in March, aims to bring fully electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles to Pakistan. BYD was the top seller of new energy vehicles worldwide in 2022 and 2023. This venture will change Pakistan’s automotive market by providing advanced, eco-friendly vehicles.
BYD is well-known for leading the way in electric vehicle production. In May 2021, they produced their 1 millionth new energy vehicle and have since reached 8 million vehicles in just over three years. The launch event on August 17th in Pakistan will showcase BYD’s latest models.
Aly Khan, the CEO of Mega Motor Co., said, “Our partnership with BYD shows Mega Motor Co.’s commitment to boosting the national economy and fighting climate change in Pakistan. We’re proud to support the government’s goal of increasing new energy vehicles on the roads and cutting down on fossil fuel use. This collaboration is a major step for Pakistan’s automotive industry and our efforts for a sustainable future.”
This partnership will bring BYD’s innovative vehicles to Pakistan and plans to build a comprehensive charging infrastructure. This is crucial for the widespread use of NEVs and aligns with Pakistan’s goals to reduce its carbon footprint and improve energy efficiency in transportation.
