Huawei has launched a major initiative called ‘Training the Trainers’ to empower 300,000 students in Pakistan. This program is a significant step in Pakistan’s digital transformation, aiming to improve ICT (Information and Communication Technology) education and skills.
The Huawei Train The Trainer (TTT) certification ceremony occurred in Islamabad. This program is a joint effort between Huawei and several ICT academies in Pakistan, designed to meet the growing need for advanced ICT skills.
The TTT program focuses on training educators who will then teach students. This method creates a positive ripple effect, greatly enhancing the quality of ICT education. Equipping trainers with the latest ICT knowledge and skills can better prepare students for careers in IT.
The program’s structure ensures that trainers receive high-quality education, aligning with the government’s vision to boost ICT education and digital literacy among students. This comprehensive training bridges the gap between academic knowledge and industry needs, better preparing students for the modern digital world.
Huawei’s partnership plays a crucial role in this initiative. Huawei is providing training and showing a deep commitment to Pakistan’s digital future. By leveraging its experience and resources, Huawei is helping to develop a skilled workforce that will benefit various sectors in Pakistan and beyond.
At the ceremony, Ahmed Bilal Masood, Deputy General Manager and Director of Huawei Pakistan, emphasized the collaboration’s potential to contribute to Pakistan’s economic growth. He stated, “Investing in IT and youth is the right direction. We are honored that Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has chosen Huawei for this initiative. This is a top priority for us, and we will continue to invest our efforts and resources to make it a success. A skilled workforce is essential for digital transformation in Pakistan.”
IT and Telecom Secretary Aisha Humera Chaudhary also highlighted the importance of this initiative. She said, “The Ministry of Information Technology is committed to supporting this initiative with strategic measures. We will assist Huawei in providing access to this training for students and set up a committee to monitor operations and ensure quality training.” Her comments reflect the ministry’s role in facilitating and overseeing the program’s success.
She added, “This program marks the beginning of significant economic growth for Pakistan. By working with us, Huawei will help make Pakistan a global leader in the ICT field.”
The TTT program is expected to have a broad impact. By training 300,000 people, the program aims to create a skilled workforce ready to contribute to various sectors. Additionally, an HR database for employment will help connect skilled professionals with job opportunities, improving employment rates and driving economic growth by supporting a skilled and adaptable workforce.
