Hajj 2024: Pakistan to Commence Flight Operation From May 9

Pakistan is set to begin its Hajj 2024 operation on May 9 at eight airports across the country, according to a report published on Thursday by ARY News.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has finalized arrangements for the Hajj 2024 flight operation.

Four airlines, namely Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Saudi Airlines, Air Blue, and Serene Air, will participate in facilitating the pilgrimage.

Vaccination of pilgrims will commence on April 30 at the designated Hajj Camps. A total of 69,500 pilgrims will embark on the spiritual journey under the government’s scheme.

The Hajj 2024 flight operation will be conducted from Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Multan, Quetta, Sukkur, Sialkot, Rahim Yar Khan, and Faisalabad airports.

At the Hajj camps, all pilgrims are mandated to receive the necessary vaccination ten days before the commencement of Hajj flights.

Pilgrims will be provided with essential items, including a suitcase, hand-carry bag, shoe bag, Ihram belt, and a green scarf adorned with the Pakistani flag.

All intending pilgrims must carry a smartphone to utilize useful mobile applications for assistance during their Hajj journey.

Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam, is a sacred pilgrimage undertaken by millions of Muslims worldwide. It occurs annually during the sacred month of Dhul Hijjah, beginning on the 8th of Dhul Hijjah and lasting approximately five to six days depending on the sighting of the moon.

The sighting of the new crescent moon marks the commencement of Eidul Adha, a four-day festival celebrated by Muslims globally.
