WhatsApp is Making It Easier to Find The Right Chats

WhatsApp has introduced an innovative feature: chat filters, aimed at optimising your messaging experience by categorizing your chat list.

These filters, totaling three, are conveniently positioned above the chat list for easy access. Named All, Unread, and Groups, each filter serves a specific purpose.

The filter names are self-explanatory; selecting ‘All’ gives you a comprehensive view of all your chats. Opting for ‘Unread’ filters your chats to display only those with unread messages, whether they are newly received or previously marked as unread. On the other hand, using ‘Groups’ narrows down the view to group chats and subgroups of communities.

WhatsApp asserts that these filters are designed to enhance user experience, ensuring that accessing the app and finding the desired conversation is swift and effortless. With the introduction of chat filters, unnecessary scrolling is minimized, streamlining the process.

The rollout of these filters is gradually taking place worldwide, commencing today. They are expected to become available to all WhatsApp users in the coming weeks.

Meta AI

This update follows closely on the heels of WhatsApp‘s testing of its Meta AI assistant within the app, which is currently available to select users globally, including those in Pakistan, India, and a few other regions. Initially accessible on devices with newer Android versions, Meta AI operates similarly to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, enabling users to ask questions, generate images, summarize text, and assist with code, all through simple text instructions.

Moreover, Meta AI is being integrated into other Meta apps, such as Instagram and Facebook. As this is a limited test, it may take some time before it is available to all WhatsApp users.
