WhatsApp, the popular messaging platform, is reportedly working on an innovative feature that could revolutionise file sharing among its users.
According to leaked information, the company is actively developing a mechanism that would allow users to share various types of files—such as photos, videos, music, and documents—even without an internet connection.

A key aspect of this advancement is the ability to identify nearby devices that are compatible with offline file sharing. WhatsApp will use Bluetooth to scan nearby gadgets, making local file exchange possible. Users will have the option to opt out of this functionality if they prefer.
Additionally, the app will require access to system files, the photo gallery, and location data on users’ devices.
To ensure data security, WhatsApp will encrypt shared files and hide phone numbers associated with the exchange.
This feature bears resemblance to peer-to-peer file-sharing apps like ShareIT, which allow file transfers without cellular or Wi-Fi connections.
