According to details, Justice Shahid Karim in the Lahore High Court issued an order on the petition of Abuzar Salman Khan Niazi regarding environmental pollution.
When the hearing of the case began, the petitioner’s counsel Abuzar Salman Khan Niazi advocated that the use of polythene bags in Lahore, Faisalabad and Gujranwala was banned on the order of the court which is being implemented.
The lawyer said that polythene bags are being used in other cities, which has increased environmental pollution, so the court should issue an order banning the use of polythene bags across Punjab.
The Environment Department has informed the court that shopping malls using polythene bags are being fined and sealed.
