The economic situation in Pakistan is at an all-time low. Importing a smartphone is outrageously expensive because our currency’s value is in ruins and taxes are extremely high.
Mid-range phones cost over Rs. 100,000, while flagships cost up to Rs. 300,000 and more. Retail prices are out of this world, and having to pay for PTA approvals drives costs even higher.

However, a recent development should make things slightly more doable for the general public.
The Bank Alfalah-owned online retailer Alfa Mall is now offering installment payments for PTA approvals, but only for particular smartphones. These phones include all of the iPhone 14 series models as well as the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22 Ultra.
The total PTA charges for these phones range from Rs. 130,000 to Rs. 190,000. However, this can be paid off with no markup in 3 to 6 months. You only need to select an installment payment method, enter your CNIC number, and then enter the phone’s IMEI code to complete the process.

Keep in mind that the PTA approval process may take up to 3–5 working days to complete. A confirmation call from the merchant will serve as another means of receiving word of your approval.
