WhatsApp is Finally Getting Screen Sharing Like Google Meet and Zoom

In order to better compete with other apps, WhatsApp has been stepping up its game. It recently added the ability to edit messages after they were sent, and now users can share their screens during calls, much like Google Meet and other apps like Zoom.

The screen-sharing feature was introduced in the most recent update, version 2.23.11.19, as noticed by some beta testers and first noticed by WABetaInfo. A new option in the call menu enables users to share their screens with chat partners. WhatsApp warns users that the app will have access to the content displayed on the screen before enabling the feature.

Users can share anything on the screen after they accept the terms and start screen sharing. It is important to keep in mind that this feature might not work with earlier versions of the app and that there might be restrictions on how many people can view the screen sharing.

The bottom navigation bar has also undergone a minor change that has caused some tabs to change positions. Even though no tabs have been removed, users used to a specific UI layout that has suddenly changed may find it confusing even though no tabs have been removed.

Remember that these modifications are still in WhatsApp’s beta version and won’t be applied to the app’s stable version for some time. But at least we know the feature is being developed and will be released soon.
